Wisconsin Association on Public Assistance Fraud (WAPAF) is a group of representatives including investigators, administrators, and benefit recovery specialists from local and state agencies. The organization is self-run and is volunteer based with staff who are dedicated to strengthening program integrity of government issued public benefits including FoodShare, Medical Assistance, BadgerCare Plus and Wisconsin Shares programs. Our focus is to deter fraud and benefit misuse by investigating and calculating incorrectly issued benefits. WAPAF collaborates with State of Wisconsin staff including having State representation on our board. WAPAF meets quarterly to network and plan training events. In the spring and fall we sponsor training for staff who work with fraud investigations and benefit recovery. Our trainings are open to all.
